Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Littlest Lambs Nursery at White Bluff United Methodist Church! We feel blessed to have you and your child worshipping with us. Please know that we strive to provide a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment for your child. We also know that we are caring for your most precious gift and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Our goal is to make our nursery the best place for your little lamb to begin his/her journey within a Christian community. Our Nursery Coordinator Robin Thiele oversees the daily operations of the nursery ministry. Robin has many years of experience caring for precious little ones in church and school settings. Robin is joined by over 30 “shepherds” or church volunteers. These shepherds know what a joy it is to care for our youngest members and are committed to helping make sure that every little lamb receives individual attention while in our care.

We know that you have many questions about the care that your little lamb will receive. Here are a few common questions:

Question: What is the ratio of infants to caregivers?
Answer: There is at least one shepherd per four children.

Question: Are the toddlers and infants separated?
Answer: Yes. The crib nursery is located in Room 12. Toddlers are in Room 14.

Question: Are sick babies allowed in here?
Answer: We strive to “Catch only Christ”. Please refer to our Sick Child Guidelines above for more information.

Question: Are the toys disinfected each week and the linens cleaned?
Answer: Yes. Staff and volunteers sanitize the toys and wash the linens after they are used.

Question: What type of security measures do you have?
Answer: Your child will be kept in the nursery at all times. We have a number system in place so that you are the only person that can claim your child. Your family photograph will also be on file. Please ask Robin Thiele for more details.

Question: Will you let my baby cry the whole hour?
Answer: As parents ourselves, we know that worshipping requires a quiet mind and we want to you to feel assured that we will not let your child be upset. If your child cries for more than 10 minutes, a shepherd will come to find you. Please make sure you note your location on the sign-in sheet as well as your cell phone number.

Please feel free to ask questions and make suggestions to any nursery worker. We welcome your input and feedback. We feel strongly about making our nursery the best place for your child to come to know what a joy and privilege it can be to worship our Lord at White Bluff United Methodist Church.

We would also like to pass along that in order to fulfill our commitment of making this nursery safe and nurturing, we need your help. Please take a few moments to review and complete the registration forms when you check your child into the nursery for the first time. They will help us provide the best care for your child. Please feel free to write any comments or let us know more about your child. The information gathered will be kept in our nursery to help our workers care for your child. If you would like to help with our Nursery Committee or volunteer with our “Little Lambs”, please let us know!

Warmly,

The Nursery Committee
