Our Staff Rev. John Haney,Senior Pastor
Rev. John Haney has served extensively in Georgia since 1978. Rev. Haney was Ordained Elder in the South Georgia Conference in June of 1984. Rev. Haney has a B. A. in Religion from LaGrange College and a Masters of Divinity from Emory University, Candler School of Theology. He has served as Chaplain for the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, Gray Police Department, and Jones County Fire and Rescue. He currently chaplain for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and Georgia Homeland Security appointed by Governor Deal. He was named Jones County Deputy of the Year in 2000. He has traveled extensively to the lands of the Bible. Rev. Haney is joined by his wife Gale. They have two grown children, Beth Hickman (husband Corey) who lives in Roberta, GA and Matthew who lives in New York City. They are also grandparents of Cash and Mac. ![]() Ronn Alford, Director of Music Ministries Ronn is in his eighth year of service here at WBUMC as Director of Music Ministries. Ronn and his family came to us from Tallahassee, Florida where he was involved in Doctoral work at the Florida State University after completing a Masters in Choral Conducting from Butler University, a Master of Arts in Church Music from Christian Theological Seminary (DOC) and a Bachelors in Sacred Music from Florida Southern College. Ronn has served in the Music Ministry for over twenty-five years with churches in Georgia, Florida, Indiana and Texas and is glad to be a part of our growing church family. Suzanne Woodrum,Organist
Suzanne has been serving as organist at WBUMC since May 1986. Prior to then, she served as organist/choir director for Cokesbury UMC from Feb. 1968 to April 1986. She has also played the organ at Spivey Hall for the special Chancel Choir tour. She accompanies all choirs and assists wherever needed with the music program. She has been on all Youth choir tours as accompanist. Suzanne also enjoys music with the preschool program at White Bluff.
She is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Georgia Music Educators Association (serving as state piano chair for two years), the Savannah Chapter of Georgia Music Teachers Association (serving two terms as president) and a member of the National Guild of Student Musicians (serving as chair at Armstrong Atlantic State University).
Her husband is David Woodrum and they have three daughters and son-in-laws, Vicki and Earl Rogers, Michelle and Bryant Dunn, and Melanie and Chuck Montford and six grandchildren Zachary, Anna Grace and Matthew Montford and Madeline, Bryce, and Ross Dunn.

Director of Youth & Young Adults
Chip Barabas is a twelve-year youth ministry veteran, currently serving as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. His responsibilities include: leading worship services, facilitating small groups, training leaders, and providing opportunities to serve. He practices an “incarnational” approach to Youth Ministry which stresses the importance of living-out faith among students and coming alongside them as they learn to do the same. Chip is a graduate of Eastern University in Philadelphia, PA with a B.A. in Youth Ministry. In his spare time, he is a college football fanatic, an expert foosball player, and can usually be found at Taco Bell.

Director of Childrens Ministries
Donna has been in children's ministry for 25 years, and joins our staff just this year. Her responsibilities will be to work with our young families and volunteers to build a children's ministry that glorifies our Lord and edifies our children. She has a degree in Ministry with a minor in Biblical Studies from Covington Seminary's Bible College Division. Donna is passionate about sharing God's love with children, and always learning more about Him from the kids all the time. Still a kid at heart, Donna enjoys days at the park with family, children's literature and movies. A Savannah native, Donna is also the mother of three boys and grandmother of two girls... oh and a dog owner.
